Cosy Date Nights at Quayside Isle, Sentosa Cove. We Recommend It.

Date nights are essential for parents to refresh their commitment to each other first and foremost as a couple before they were parents. However, commitments to work, kids, homework duties, house chores and maybe finding a sitter or leaving the kids at home can prevent parents from heading out for a nice night out.

Like most couples, my husband and I find it hard to get away from the homefront. However, romance aside, regular date nights are good for our relationship. We use this time to catch up with each other’s life, to calibrate our priorities in the relationship and simply to re-discover the enjoyment of each other’s company.

Our date nights usually revolve around food as my husband and I enjoy trying new restaurants. We like Quayside Isle on Sentosa because the serenity of the waterfront reminds us of our travels in Australia and America. I know it is a bit far out, but we like that it is quiet and cosy. If you get there around 5-ish or 6pm, you can catch the evening light as the sun sets. The pier, docked boats and the boardwalk present a wonderful backdrop for romantic photos.

If you have not been to Quayside Isle at Sentosa, let us introduce you to three different restaurants with different flavours.

1) Greater Lot by Cedele — For the Healthy Couple

The food here is AMAZing!! Not only is the food delicious, they are really healthy too. So if you or your partner are health-conscious about what you consume, you should definitely stop by Greater Lot.

We highly recommend their Open Face Tart. The crumbly crust has a curious turmeric taste that teases your taste buds and insists that you keep tasting it until lo and behold, the dish is polished. I am not a beetroot fan but the beetroot humus complimented the avocados and together with the crumbly crust, you have a treat in your mouth. Luckily, there are two in a plate. So no fighting there.

It was lovely to sit by the wharf, enjoy the light breeze and enjoy the evening air with a nice chill beer. It really does not get any better than this. Ask the service crew about their healthy beer. And of course, we all know Cedele is famous for their selection of cakes. Pack them home if you are too full from the main course.

MUSEO — For the Creative Couple

If you like something a little more exotic or artsy different, then head over to MUSEO. Our previous visit was last year when they had their Halloween celebrations. There is definitely a creative vibe to this restaurant. Located on the second floor of Quayside Isle, we love the huge glass windows that overlook the marina. You can sit side by side on the Japanese-like couches and catch the sun as it sets while you sipped on your drinks. If you and your spouse are game for it, you can even have some fun art jamming in dedicated art area of the restaurant.

Greenwood Fish Market — For the Hungry Couple

Seafood lovers will  enjoy this restaurant tremendously. Located at one end of the pier, Greenwood Fish Market belies a sophisticated ambience with their marine decor. The seafood here is fresh as can be and prepared to bring out the flavours of the sea. Even though my husband is allergic to shellfish, he could not resist the oysters. For spouses like my husband, there are other meat options for them to choose from.  Read about our Easter dinner date with our kids cum hubby’s birthday celebrations here.

This is not your typical seafood restaurant, but you will get fresh seafood served in a variety of manner from fresh to cooked, from Asian to Western, from steamed to Fried. However you like your seafood, this restaurant will serve it to you. Perfect for date nights when you just want to pig out…
