A Great Lifestyle Camera For the Parent, Traveler and Blogger

Taking photos is par for the course for most social media influencers. While a smartphone camera allows you to take relative decent photos, for the most part, a good camera can offer more for the buck in the long run, especially if you want to land a sponsorship with a major brand.

In this post, we are reviewing the Canon EOS M6 that comes with an EF- M18-150mm lens. While I am not an expert when it comes to cameras, I find many positives about the Canon EOS M6 that is worth recommending.

First, in comparison to my DSLR, this camera is relatively light in weight, user-friendly and is easily portable in any bags. The shiny silver-color finish for the sample review piece has a sleek appearance that allows it to hold its own next to the other DSLR cameras at social media events.  Believe me when I say it is a real face-saving grace when I whip it out in the company of my social media peers.

Second, the EOS M6 has been furnished with a 24.2MP sensor designed with Canon’s Dual Pizel CMOS AF technology. This means that it provides a better subject detection and tracking for your focus when it comes to your picture or video taking. This is super ideal and idiot-proof for a non-geek like me especially during lifestyle photoshoots or vlogging purposes. Take a look at the photos I took at a brunch at The Dempsey Cookhouse & Bar.

Another positive for me about the Canon EOS M6 is its connectivity options. I like that I can take great pictures with the camera, send them to my smartphone via Wi-Fi and upload to my social media accounts. Pronto. Very efficient, convenient and a great asset for bloggers like me. Here are some pictures I took with the camera at the National Day Parade Preview this year (including the night shots of the fireworks) that I was able to upload to my Instagram account.

This year’s NDP has more aerial actions and a really touching storyline. I won’t spoil it for you. But it’s definitely worth watching. . It’s my first time at a National Day Parade. So much better watching it LIVE than on TV. I hope every Singaporean citizen gets to do it at least once in their lifetime. . A heartfelt salute to our Red Lions, Naval Combat Divers, RSAF strikemasters, the 3,000 performers on stage and the thousands of support backstage who put on an amazing show even without the actual MPs… It was kinda surreal. Everyone was so nice!! From the greeters to the motivators to the ushers. Even fellow Singaporeans. Thank you all for an awesome time! . #ndp2018 #nationalday #sgig #singapore #singaporean #celebration #universalscribbles #wearesingapore

Overall, I find the Canon EOS M6 to be a well-built mirrorless camera that takes great stills and offers lots of flexibility and creative potential to the creator behind the camera. If you are in the market for a camera that emulates the DSLR but does not have the weight of one, I will definitely recommend this one. It is ideal to capture the daily childhood moments of your kids, the special occasions with your loved ones and also a great keeper of your travel memories.

The Canon EOS M6 is available at most major electronics stores and retails at $1,439 (kit includes EF-M18-150 IS STM). For more information, head over to Canon’s website link.
