Hear ye! Hear ye! British Royalties Prince William and Duchess Kate are here in Singapore!

Prince William and his wife, the Duchess Kate, will spend eight days touring the Asia Pacific region as part of the Diamond Jubilee World Tour to celebrate the Queen’s 60-year reign. The first stop for the royal couple is Singapore (from September 11 to 13), before heading on to Kuala Lumpur, the Solomon Islands and Tuvalu.

Their first stop over the next three days is the Singapore Botanic Gardens where the Royal couple will be part of an orchid naming ceremony in their honour and view the royal flowers named Dendrobium Memoria Princess Diana, an orchid named after the late princess Diana, and the Dendrobium Queen Elizabeth II.

In the evening, the pair will attend a state dinner hosted by the Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and President Tony Tan at the Istana (11 Sep).

The next day (12 Sep), the Royal couple will tour the Gardens by the Bay and be ushered inside the cool high-tech dome of plants and vegetation to admire the lush winter greenery.

Thereafter, the Royal Highnesses are scheduled to stop over at the Rolls Royce Aircraft Factory in Seletar, before spending a cultural afternoon in the Queenstown Strathmore Green precinct where they will be treated to performances that reflect Singapore’s multi-cultural society.

The Prince, also known as the Duke of Cambridge, and his wife will then swing by the Queenstown Rainbow Centre, a school for children with special needs, as the Duchess has expressed an interest in learning more about the centre’s art therapy classes. The Royal duo will end their busy day with a royal reception at Eden Hall, residence of the British High Commissioner.

Before their departure from Singapore, the Royal pair will pay a visit to the Kranji Commonwealth War Cemetery (13 Sep). ~sources: www.herworldplus.com and www.straitstimes.com

Not a very exciting visit, if you ask me.  Very prim and proper and official-ish. Oh well, still it’s the young royal couple! I do wonder what kind of itinerary the OTHER young British ‘royal-ish’ couple – David and Victoria Beckhem will have if they visit our sunny island…

In case you want to snap a quick look at the Royal Couple, here’s a quick glimpse of where Prince William and the Duchess Kate will be during their visit in Singapore.
