FUN. FUN. FUN.

In a blink of an eye, we are in the last quarter of the year. Singapore does not slow down in organizing more family-bonding events, especially during the one-week September school holidays (7 to 15 September).

Best of all, the admission to these following events are FREE! So, plan your kids’ study schedule and put down some time in their calendar for some family fun.

1) Singapore Night Festival

If you missed last weekend’s spectacular aerial performances, music, dance and installation artworks at the heart of Bras Basah and Bugis precinct, Singapore’s arts and heritage district, catch it again THIS weekend.

A nocturnal extravaganza, the main events and special events with late night openings will take place at cultural venues such as the National Museum of Singapore, the Peranakan Museum, Singapore Art Museum and The Substation and More! Read about our night at the Night Festival.

Date:  30 & 31 August (Fri & Sat)
Time: 7pm – 2am
Venue: Click here for directions (make sure you have the right dates)

2) NTUC Income Kite Festival

Didn’t catch the Big & Wondrous Kites in June this year? Well, you get another chance this weekend. Come admire the Kite Exhibitions (4-8pm) from renowned kiters from Australia, Belgium, France, Malaysia, and The Netherlands. Attend Kite Making workshops (4pm – 7pm) and catch demonstrations of Turbine Kite Display and Single Line Kite Display (4 – 7pm).

Date:  31 August – 1 September (Sat & Sun)
Time: 4pm – 8pm
Venue: The Promontory @ Marina Bay

3) Goodman Arts Centre 3rd Open House

Enjoy a relaxing day of creative fun at Singapore’s largest arts enclave covering exhibitions and classes of 12 tracks, 150 programmes and over 200 Goodman Arts Centre (GAC)’s artists and art groups.

This is a great opportunity for your kids to try their hands at ANY art programmes – visual, performance or tactile. Some of the more popular ones include Batik Painting, Ceramic Arts, creating charaters in cartoon, Indian Dance for Kids and Yoga.

It’s free admission, free parking and free trial for all workshops, talks, forums, and films. Click here to download the programme planner.

Date: 7 & 8 September (Sat & Sun)
Time: 10am – 6pm
Venue: Goodman Arts Centre – 90 Goodman Road, Singapore 439053 (click for directions)

4) Race Me To The Stars

What is this? This is essentially a MediaCorp Soap Box Derby to celebrate 50 years of television. Come catch your favorite MediaCorp Stars and watch them in their celebrity race.

Not keen on the stars? How about bonding with your kids on the mini-ramp, inflatable surfer, a Euro Bungee and a Dunking Booth to elicit lots of laughter and fun for you and your family?

Date: 8 September (Sun)
Time: 9am – 7am
Venue: NUS Sports & Recreation Centre

Click here for more details. Check out the video for last year’s fun time at the Derby.

5) Sentosa Buskers Festival

We caught this festival last year and it WAS a blast! We are so looking forward to be entertained by local, international and budding buskers this year. Pray for good weather and put on your most comfortable shoes; sit back and let yourself be entertained.

Date: 7 – 15 September
Time: 4:30pm – 10:30pm
Venue: Merlion Plaza to Siloso Beach

* Island admission and parking charges still apply. Click here for more details.
