Matilda The Musical: Clever Little Girl (Review)

When we heard Matilda The Musical was in town, we were excited to catch it. And the verdict is “Get Your Tickets to the show NOW!”

Matilda The Musical is one of the best theater production we have seen to date. It is a gleeful replica of the book regaled with memorable and quotable lines and filled with ingenious humor that the audience of all ages can relate and understand. The performance by the outstanding cast was astounding, especially from the youngest performer – Matilda (Sofia Poston). I especially like the performance by Miss Trunchbull (Ryan de Villiers).

Synopsis

Matilda The Musical is adapted from the book by the same title (Matilda) of one of our favorite author for children’s books, Roald Dahl. Matilda is a story of an extraordinary little girl whose vivid imagination, sharp wit and keen mind astounds and frightens those who do not understand her. Using her remarkable skills resourcefully, Matilda helps herself and her victimized teacher overcome difficult challenges with the unruly adults (her dim-witted parents and the Nazi-principal) in their lives, and manages to change their destinies for the better.

Matilda The Musical is the multi-award winning musical from the Royal Shakespeare Company. Having won over 85 international awards, including 16 for Best Musical, Matilda The Musical is now performing in Singapore.

Trust me when I tell you that this is one production you DO NOT want to miss. Your kids will relate to the gleeful mischief that the children in the play get into. Our Singaporean kids may even agree with the rare occasion where parents detest reading and encourage TV watching.
