Plays For Kids: A Guide To Educational Plays 2015 (Jan to Jun)

Hey moms and dads! There are many exciting plays produced just for your little ones this first half of the year. From evergreen stories like The Three Billy Goats Gruff to Aesop Fables’ tales of morals to new stories like The Snail and the Whale and Hugless Douglas. We are giving tickets away to some productions. Read on and book your tickets NOW.

KIDSFEST! 2015
29 Jan – 28 Feb

Recommended for 3 to 12-year-olds!

KidsFest has become a key event on Singapore’s calendar of cultural events when families can look forward to a series of world-class productions,” said Matthew Gregory, Executive Producer of ABA Productions Ltd.

There are 8 different productions over 5 weeks. On top of the performances, KidsFest+ adds an extra layer of interactivity to the festivities. For selected show dates and times, the audience can meet the talented people behind the show up close in a special meet and greet sessions, or enjoy the photo wall, photo booth and free face painting at a selection of performances as well! And don’t forget to pick up a balloon on the way out!

Aesop’s Fables
26 Feb – 21 March

Recommended for 3 to 13-year-olds!

iTheatre brings back their popular sold-out production (2009) Aesop’s Fables — The Jay And The Peacock, Androcles And The Lion, The Lion And The Mouse or the Goose who laid Golden Eggs. No matter young or old, you will love the retelling of these stories and their innate wisdom!

Roald Dahl’s Little Red Riding Hood and The Three Little Pigs
28 Feb – 16 March

Recommended for above 3 year olds!

Players Theatre is thrilled to be bringing Roald Dahl’s Little Red Riding Hood and The Three Little Pigs to the stage. Based on Roald Dahl’s Revolting Rhymes, these two classic tales are put together into one “Big Bad” musical of a show. Roald Dahl’s imaginative re-telling features music based on the orchestral commissions by the Roald Dahl Foundation.

Goldilocks 
11 – 29 March

Recommended for 5 to 12-year-olds!

SRT’s The Little Company (TLC) production of Goldilocks and the Three Bears in English was so successful last year that they are introducing the Mandarin version of this classic story for our bilingual children and budding linguists.

The Three Billy Goats Gruff
2 April – 10 May

Recommended for 2 to 6-year-olds!

Step into the magical fairytale world of The Three Billy Goats Gruff – a musical by SRT’s The Little Company (TLC) that is guaranteed to be snortingly silly and full of giggles. This new musical features music and lyrics by the Laurence Olivier award-winning West-End musical theatre songwriting duo George Stiles and Anthony Drewe (Honk!, Broadway’s Mary Poppins, Just So and Peter Pan: A Musical Adventure).
