Birthday Party @ Build-A-Bear

For my daughter’s 7th birthday, we decided to host a Build-A-Bear Party.

There are 3 branches to choose from – Plaza Singapura, NEX and Harbourfront (near Vivo City). We chose the latter as it has a bigger area for the girls to move around in.

The crew was very accommodating and friendly with the initial inquiries as well as subsequent arrangements. From the start of the party, the Party Leader (Lullaby) welcomes the girls and conducts ice-breaking games to keep them entertained. Encourage your guests to be punctual, but if they are late, the team at Build-a-Bear will help them to catch up.

Kids having so much fun, they don’t need the moms or dads to be around.

The Party Leader always gives the birthday child preferential treatment, so he or she will be smiling at all times. Check out the brilliant smile on my birthday girl!!

After the party games, it was time to choose the bear. Mr. Chestnut (the fairer one) or Peanut Butter (the brown one). Which bear do you prefer?

A Lovely Ritual – Blessings For The Birthday Child

After choosing the desired bear, the girls were asked to choose a heart, followed by a sweet ritual. They were asked to bow their heads and wish or pray for a blessing for the birthday girl with the heart.

Then the hearts of each and every child were placed into stuff toy of the birthday child.

Then they picked another heart. This one, they were asked to rub it against their ears, nose, and muscles so that their bears will always listen to them, know who they are and be their strength when they need it.

The team is quite good at asking the girls if they wanted a fluffy or firm stuff bear.

After the bears were all stuffed. It was time to get the bears ready to be brought home. First, the girls “bathed” their bears at the Fluff Station, then they dressed it in their T-shirts. Voila, the bears are ready. The birthday girl got to give her stuffed animal a special brush down as well before it was properly stuffed.

Group Photo to commemorate the occasion. Each bear comes with their own birth certificate and traveling home box with a beary notebook inside.

Finally, the Team Leader will assist with the cake-cutting ceremony. Build-A-Bear has a policy that no food is allowed in the store. Hence, we had to suffice with a simple blow-out-candle ceremony at the entrance of the shop, amidst the prying eyes of some curious shoppers. No other types of food were allowed to be served. Hence, if you want a simple 2 hour birthday party, this is very ideal.

Before we say goodbye and take our bears home, the team helped the birthday child distribute the bears and goodie bags (optional) to her party guests.

Thanks to the wonderful team at Build-A-Bear, we had a wonderful party and lots of lovely memories to take home, not to forget the cuddly stuff animal we build ourselves…

Such a lovely party idea! The no-food policy is a bit of a bummer though. I loved the bit where all the kids got to send blessings via little hearts to the birthday girl. She looked like she had a great time! Happy birthday to your little girl! 🙂

Hi Adeline, thanks your birthday wishes. She did have a great time and we got really good feedback from the parents of the girls who attended days after that their daughters really love their bears. We’re happy to hear that. 🙂
