Chloe Choo, 6, snagged a coveted role as young Molly in Annie The Musical. The young talent from Kids Performing was even chosen to perform on opening night!
“This is an honour given to the best performer (of the lot),” said a beaming Joanne Leow, Managing Director of Kids Performing Academy of the Arts . “We are exceedingly proud of Chloe,” she adds.
This is Kids Performing’s second success in casting a young star in an international performance in Singapore. The first being Nicolas Papayoanou in the lead role as young Simba in the 2011 musical The Lion King.
Of her first experience performing on stage to a large audience, Chloe said it is “awesome”; that the older girls are very nice and are “like big sisters” to her.
“I like Molly because we are both cute and smart,” says a young and chirpy Chloe. The K2 student who has taken a leave of absence from Modern Montessori International to focus on her performance, offers these audition tips for aspiring young performers:
* Practice, practice, practice
* Be prepared
* Always follow instructions
* Listen to the Director
* Speak Loudly
* Do not drink cold drinks or do anything that will strain your voice
